Charlotte's Story

Our family have been baking since 1895. It all started in the small fishing village Carradale on the West Coast of Scotland, a peninsula on the Mull of Kintyre.

About Charlotte

Charlotte was a baker and wife of John Ritchie, who took the Bungalow Bakery into its third generation of family ownership.

Charlotte developed the bakery further, expanding to include a shop and tearoom. Freshly baked scones, shortbreads, fruit squares and traditional Scottish ice drinks are still fondly remembered today.

Charlotte lived to be 100, receiving a congratulatory card from the Queen.

Baked the way Grandma used to

Now into the fifth generation, Charlottes Bakery continues with her grandson Colin so you can enjoy baked goods the way Grandma used to make them!
